Ayllu Restaurant

Ayllu Restaurant is a gastronomic and cultural proyect created about the middle of 2000 year by Michael Vadel and Ruby Saire, a young chilean-atacamenian matrimony.

 

The main objective is to offer the most selected local cookery (atacamenian), national and international in their vegetarian food, salads, soups, parrilladas, pizzas, pastas and sandwichs.

Another objective of Ayllu Restaurant is to tell the histotry of this region of the world, through traditional materials that the restaurant is made of. ( stone, adobe,brea, chañar, algarrobo and pimiento woods). Particulary you will know a part of this region history , through the wine cellar design, a copy of Tulor Village rooms, or by the picture writing of thje walls of their big yard, copies of the most characterized rupestrian art of the area. Ayllu word that in kunza or atacamenian language means "community", occupy a central place on this concept, because of that he community work is an important part of the history and atacamenian culture. Ayllu restaurant reproduce this idea working togehter with family and friends.

 


The preceding united by the modern architecture, that include native trees as part of the structure, the stone chimney, the grill on the yard and elements such us satelital TV and life music on the weekends, gives to this place an eclectic air, let say postmodern.

Besides, as restautant, The Ayllu is cafeteria and pub, so in the soul of San Pedro you will taste delicious chañar dessert or quinoa marmalade cake with a good coffee and a variety list of national and international drinks.

Other services that are offered: catering service for San Pedro and it surroundings, foods for groups and delegation depending the interesting and the peoples money. Also private tours with local guides.
