Greenwich
Expedition

Greenwich Expedition has great experience creating expeditions in Chile and South America. It was established in 1999 as a company specializing in supplying professional equipment for those who practice adventure sports.

For our expeditions, we use the legendary 4x4 Land Rovers and Unimogs, as well as rescue equipment, high power radios, GPS systems (Global Positioning System) and a complete line of outdoor support equipment.

Our main interest is to share our joy in providing our tours to people from all over the world, presenting a personalized and professional product, being able to enjoy a genuine expedition in 4x4 typical vehicles, where you will not only know the most beautiful and unknown (for their difficult access) places, as well as learning about the traditions and cultures in the farthest corners of Chile and South America.

Among Greenwich Expedition’s options, we offer the Atacama Desert. This itinerary offers a complete view of the San Pedro de Atacama oasis; following traditional routes and others 100% off road that only we offer, combining hiking and photographic tours. On this tour your can visit the most important hieroglyphics in the north of Chile.

This route examines the high plains, where you will find the principal active volcanoes, as well as the Andean hieroglyphics that still conserve the traditional architecture of the region; you will visit more than seven different salt flats, you can bathe in their salt pools where you will be surprised with the sensation of weightlessness, similar to the dead sea, from its high salt content.

On this route, you will become familiar with the diverse Andean flora and fauna; in some of these ecosystems, you might see flocks of the three species of flamingos that inhabit Chile, besides you can see species such as llamas, vicuñas and guanacos. Not to be missed are the geothermic areas such as the Tatio Geyser and the Surire and Lauca National Parks, where you can enjoy the hot spring baths, unknown due to their difficult access.

Lastly, you will learn the historic relevance of northern Chile to the country’s development; we will visit the ex-salt flats of Santa Laura and Humberstone, as well as the lovely city of Iquique where the 19th century architecture stands out, in Arica, you will see one of the most important archeological museums, the Azapa.

With Greenwich Expedition, prepare yourself to experience a grand adventure...
